About Us

We belong to the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

We are a denomination that seeks to be true to the Scriptures,
the Reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

We are a confessional church, and the summary of doctrinal beliefs
we believe the Bible teaches can be found in the  Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.

We believe the Scriptures found in the Bible are the inerrant word of God
and thus the final authority for man.

Our Mission & Vision

Our desire as a church
is to be honoring to God
and helpful to you.

Our hope in this world and the world to come is in Christ and Him crucified. Our focus is on worship, teaching, loving fellowship, heavenly mindedness, and faithful outreach. We desire to develop wisdom in how we live and serve God through Christ as we look to His Day. We acknowledge we are sinners saved by grace, and hope you find us humble, warm, and caring if you visit us. Our guide and authority in these goals is the Bible, which we believe to be the inerrant Word of God.

Our Purpose

The purpose of First Presbyterian Church is:

To be fruitful and multiply by making disciples of the people in our community.

To worship God faithfully in Spirit and truth.

To be diligent about teaching the whole word of God.

To equip every member for active ministry, spiritual and material, both inside and outside the church.

To proclaim the Gospel of the whole world; and

To encourage one another in Christian love and service.

“Poor folks must either borrow or beg the rich, and the only thing that commendeth sinners to Christ is extreme necessity and want.  Christ’s love is ready to make and provide a ransom and money for a poor body who hath lost his purse.  ‘Come, he who has no money, come, buy and eat!’ (Isaiah 55:1).  That is the poor man’s market.”
