Morning Worship

We sing from the Trinity Hymnal, pray, give, and hear God’s word exposited.  Our pastor, Chris Shelton, is currently preaching from the book of Revelation in the Bible.

Sunday School

Adult Sunday School classes use material from Ligonier Ministries.  Youth and children’s classes are doing a survey of the Old Testament.

Evening Worship

Pastor Chris has been summarizing and highlighting sermons from the church fathers, puritans, and greats from the past.

Visiting?

What to Expect

Welcome!

We are a friendly congregation and would love to meet you before or after the service!

Teaching Style

We focus on exposition of the scriptures in our teaching from the pulpit. This means that our pastor systematically preaches and teaches through books of the Bible. He explains the original authors’ context and intent and applies those Biblical truths in our lives today.

Worship Style

Our morning worship service is traditional. Services consist of congregational hymns, scripture readings, prayers, an offering and preaching of the word. Our evening service is more informal.  We sing from the Trinity hymnal.

Arrival Time

It’s helpful to arrive at least 5 minutes before start time to hear the announcements and settle your heart for worship during the piano prelude.

Need the Nursery?

We don’t always have a person in the nursery, but we do have volunteers who will be glad to staff the nursery if needed.  If we see you with small children or babies, we’ll offer.  If you reach out to us ahead of time, we can give you more information and take care of any special needs you have.

Parking

We have onsite parking accessible from East Jackson Road.

Accessibility

We have a ramp entrance in the parking lot and handicap parking spaces.

Bulletins & Giving

To help you prepare for worshipping with us, you can check out a sample bulletin to get a feel for our order of worship each Sunday. You’ll notice that a regular part of our worship is the offering. Ushers pass an offering plate down the aisle during the service, but visitors should not feel pressured in any way to give.

What to Wear

We have a wide assortment of attire on Sunday morning, from suits and dresses to jeans and t-shirts.

The Latest News & Updates

“Lord, teach us to pray,”  Luke 11:1.

To pray properly is not any easy matter.  To pour out your heart and soul before God, to believe he hears and will come to help you; to pray in faith and to wrestle with him; to strive for a blessing and hope against hope; being delayed, yet waiting for him until he comes; this is exceeding hard to be done.

Revelation 5:8-9

Revelation chapter 5 is a vision of the exaltation and coronation of the Lord Jesus Christ after his victory over the world and the devil by his death. Jesus as the Lamb takes the scroll from the right hand of God (verse 7), indicating that he has received all power and authority to carry out the purposes of God in heaven and on earth. Christ is worthy is the theme of the chapter.

Revelation 5: 5-6

At the end of Revelation, when the redeemed of God are all secure in heaven, God will wipe away all the tears of his people. It’s a great promise, and it reminds Christians that while weeping may endure for the night, joy comes in the morning. Whatever pains and sorrows we have now are temporary. There is an end of suffering for Christ’s people.
