Sunday School
Adult Sunday School classes use material from Ligonier Ministries. One class is watching the video series, Foundations, taught by R.C. Sproul. A youth class is going through a survey of the Old Testament. Childrens classes study Bible stories and learn Bible verses and the children’s catechism.
Prayer Meeting
We meet for prayer at 6:30 pm on the second and fourth and fifth Wednesday nights of the month (the other weeks are for Women’s meeting and Family Night Supper). Text or call Pastor Chris to make sure we are meeting or with prayer requests.
Family Night Supper
Family Night Supper is an old-fashioned pot-luck, covered-dish meal for everyone! A favorite of young and old! Usually once a month on the third Wednesday night. Check Facebook for the most up-to-date information.
Vacation Bible School
May 28-31, 2024
Olympion was a wonderful four days of learning about Joshua and how to be on God’s team! Make plans to join us next year as we study the life of Christ and learn to be UPWARD BOUND!
Catechism Class
Students in grades 7-12 meet on Wednesday afternoons at 3:30 during the school year for an in-depth study of the Bible and theology with Pastor Chris at the church. Younger students may have a class starting this fall – please contact the church if you are interested.
Music Lessons
Piano lessons are offered under special request.
Youth Events
Our youth meet to play games and fellowship quarterly. They join with other youth groups for special events like Youthiversity or camps. Check the church’s Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
Women In the Church
The Women In the Church meet on the first Wednesday of each month for planning and Bible study. They contact each other for prayer when needs arise and host the monthly fellowship meal, the Family Night Supper. Contact the church for more information.
Missions
First Presbyterian Church supports local missions in Union. We support the Center for Pregnancy Choices of Philadelphia. We support disaster relief efforts in Mississippi and the Southeast. We support church plants in our Presbytery. We support missionaries in Western Europe, Japan, India, South America and Turkey. We have a family team that travels annually to help a mission church in West Virginia. The Women In the Church have a large mission budget as well.
